The Chili Appreciation Society International, Inc.’s mission is to promote chili and raise money for charity. In addition to raising funds for charitable organizations in the United States and participating foreign countries, we seek to educate the public about the historic and cultural significance of chili – an indigenous American tradition. We are working for the adoption of chili as the National Food of the United States.

Come to Behnke’s Saturday, Oct 4th 2008 as we welcome the Mason Dixon Chili Club. All proceeds from the cook-off benefiting the Beltsville Rotary Club. Come out and taste chili like never before while supporting the Beltsville Rotary Club. The Mason Dixon Chili Club cooks to amass chili points in a friendly competition where the winner is ALWAYS the charity!

Chili Tasting Starts at Noon ($5.00 fee goes to Beltsville Rotary Club). Judging the Competition Chili Starts at 2PM, Prizes and Awards 4PM, Raffles donated by Local Business.

Come to Behnke Nurseries this October 4, 2008 as we welcome the Mason Dixon Pod of Maryland’s Premier Chili Club to our First Extreme Chili Cook-Off at our Beltsville location. Benefiting the Beltsville Rotary Club, Behnkes will have a day of fun and food! New Chili Cooks are always welcomed to the friendly competition where the winner is ALWAYS the charity!

There will be a “People’s Choice Award” where you can purchase for $5.00 a tasting kit to sample the different Chilies. You can always go back for another bowl when you pick the one you like the best. (for an additional cost) All the money raised will go to the Beltsville Rotary Club.
